![]() Examine all the items in the room before entering the next area – the vortex across from the bed that says ‘spirits'. We begin in Zoë's dream hospital room.Shit Bot versus Kid Bot is just one example of how the game changes significantly (again, in a way I didn't realise until last night) as a result of your actions. However, the game's about the journey rather than the ending (IMO a curse of kickstarter is that people can get TOO hyped up). I only just met Kid Bot! I think the 'your decision has changed the balance' kinda vibe is over-played. My Watilla's awesome BTW and true story, it actually saved my computer the other day as I had an old version of my system installed on it (when my computer was stuck in a boot loop with no internet access). I got my Watilla (less money than others but I put it on an almost maxed out credit card while going through a messy divorce where my ex had bashed the shit outta me and taken everything - paying more doesn't mean you're more entitled, you've simply got more capacity to back the game). I think all game devs (aside from maybe the Blade Runner devs - it has like 13 known endings that are all different) reach a point where they realise it's hard enough finishing one game, let alone building the logic for 20 different games into it. It makes for decent entertainment but yeah. The feeling I get about it is that (like The Witcher), the Scandinavian stories love having pathways where you do the seemingly good thing, then everybody ends up getting killed as a result. this was changed to an essentially linear adventure game with a few ultimately meaningless choice points. I was like, is that all? It is still one of my favourite games of all time though, but I could see if I'd be screwed over after paying 100s to the kickstarter I might have felt different. & then we see Zoey, who really we just see on the balcony ending up pregnant in chapters. I'm sad they apperently screwed some kickstarters over though.Īnd I think you're right as in they were ready to move on from francise which is fine, but I wish the ending would've been more satisfying, Dreamfall TLJ also had a very let down ending. I also felt like Kian could've little less robot ish and boring? I didn't like playing as Kian much because he felt too 2d to me, feel like there was a lack of character development with him. I do feel as for the fans of the series, a lot of things were very unsatisfying. ![]() So sorry that happened to you! I didn't even know all the kickstarter drama untill now, I considered buying one of the super fancy packs but I overall figured it would be too risky financial wise if something would happen to my pets or something else that would require a moderate amount of money. Especially Zoe's ending who we just see ending up as pregnant and nothing more, and Saga and her parents pretty much being a unexplained storyline.Īgain I still find Dreamfall Chapters a magical experience, and again it was certainly not a commercial flop by any did quite well in terms of sales (Less with critiques but still quite okay in my opinion) but I feel like it just lacks a overall fanbase? I wonder why? Any opinions on this? Maybe it is just where I live? I yearn to fangirl over this francise but I feel like I am the only one. I feel like the game did pretty terrible in my country and maybe all of Europe overall even though the sales were good? Not sure about the USA or if it was even released in other regions like Asia or Africa? I am not gonna lie and say I find that TLJ series endings overall a little underwhelming and lacking, but that is just my personal opinion of course. I have talked to people about the game who looked it up and said ''Oh that looks cool!'' but either they never end up actually trying it, or they try it but get bored with it. Most people in my country never even heard of any of the games, but I figured chapters would change that, but I feel like it really went under the radar for many people. However I feel like Dreamfall Chapters is SO underrated, the story is so amazing, but I feel like the franchise surprisingly really lacks a community of fans? haha. TLJ is more a summer/spring feeling for me so I never play that one in the winter or fall, really feels like a spring/summer game to me! It is a tradition for me to play Dreamfall the longest journey since I was 18 (and later on Chapters too!) every winter cause of the cozy feeling it gives me. So let me start of by saying I am a HUGE fan of the series.
